ASHA convention organised by National Health Mission here at the State Banquet Hall Itanagar here today.
The NHM reiterated its commitment to supporting ASHAs through continuous training and resources, aiming to strengthen the overall healthcare infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Health Minister while terming the ASHA workers as frontline disseminators of health information highlighted the crucial role of ASHA workers in motivating villagers about the benefits of healthcare facilities, promoting health awareness, and facilitating access to essential services.
“Sometimes, ASHA works faces difficulties in mobilising communities to participate in local health planning, promoting healthy behaviours, and ensuring the utilisation of available healthcare services,” the Health Minister said urging the ASHA workers not to lose hope and keep doing their good deeds.
Wahge sought support of all stakeholders in improving the health scenario of state and health delivery system so that maximum numbers of people can avail the health benefit, treatment, services and improve the health of all.
The Minister also requested all to avail the facility of digital health ‘Scan & Find', an indoor
navigation system, which was launched recently at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical
Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun.
Earlier, Commissioner Health and Family Welfare, Pawn Kumar Sain, while appreciating the work of the ASHAs, said they have emerged as one of the cornerstones of India’s healthcare delivery system, playing a pivotal role in ensuring better health outcomes across the country, especially in rural and underserved
communities.
Through their dedicated work, ASHA workers are instrumental in providing essential healthcare services, raising awareness, and driving public health initiatives at the grassroots level, Sain added.
Mission Director, (NHM) Marge Sora while highlighting the role of ASHA workers said,
ASHA workers, who are trained community health workers, serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking healthcare information, services, and support. They work closely with the local population, building trust and serving as a crucial link between healthcare facilities and communities, often in remote areas where access to medical care is limited. In many ways, they bridge the gap in healthcare delivery and are considered the backbone of India’s National Health Mission. Therefore, the
MD advised the ASHA works to keep up their good work and to create awareness in the community.
Dr Dimong Padung, Nodal Officer NHM reviewed the overview of NHM in his power point presentation and Dr Gomi Basar shared about the two newly launched innovative software platforms, under a pilot
programme, at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun recently by the health and family welfare minister Biyuram Wahge to enhance the health care service in the Sate.
The platforms ‘Scan & Find' and ‘Scan & Feedback' aim to improve hospital navigation and patient experience.
While ‘Scan & Find', an indoor navigation system, is designed to help patients and visitors easily locate various hospital departments, doctor's chambers and other facilities within the TRIHMS campus, ‘Scan & Feedback' allows patients and their attendants to submit their experiences, complaints or
suggestions online, ensuring better service delivery and accountability.
