Itanagar, Mar 30: In the true spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, Rajasthan’s State Foundation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, on March 30. Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik, graced the occasion and actively participated in the cultural program and interactive sessions. The event truly embodied the essence of cultural harmony, reinforcing the bonds between the people of Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized that celebrating the foundation days of other states fosters national unity, amity, and goodwill among people. He highlighted how the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ vision, championed by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is strengthening India’s unity in diversity.
Reflecting on Rajasthan’s glorious past, the Governor noted that the state's history is an integral part of India’s heritage, known for its valor, patriotism, and rich cultural traditions. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of the Rajasthani community in Arunachal Pradesh’s development and appreciated their efforts in preserving and sharing their cultural heritage.
The celebrations featured vibrant performances showcasing Rajasthan’s rich artistic traditions. Members of the Rajasthani community in Arunachal Pradesh, including senior bureaucrats and entrepreneurs, enthusiastically participated in the event. The program included mesmerizing performances of the traditional Ghoomar dance and the spirited Dhamal folk song.
Adding colour to the event, the children of Child Care Institute, Oju Mission presented ‘Arunachal Hamara’ Dance.
Adding to the spirit of camaraderie, the Statehood Day message from the Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Haribhau Bagde, was read out during the event.
The students of Oju Welfare Association, Naharlagun attended the programme as the special guests of the Governor.
As part of the celebrations, the Governor hosted a high tea, interacting with guests and participants.
In a gesture of goodwill and cultural exchange, the Rajasthani community of Arunachal Pradesh served an array of authentic Rajasthani delicacies, including ‘Dal Baati’, ‘Churma’, ‘Ghewar’, and ‘Moong Ka Halwa’, delighting all attendees.
