Itanagar, Apr 1: The State Foundation Day of Odisha, ‘Utkala Dibasa,’ was celebrated with enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, today. The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.), joined the Odia community in the state to mark the occasion.
Extending warm greetings to the people of Odisha, the Governor conveyed the best wishes of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized that celebrating the Statehood Days of different states fosters unity and provides an opportunity for deeper engagement with communities working in Arunachal Pradesh. Page 2..

He said that such events help in understanding their achievements, challenges, and contributions toward the State’s progress.
The Governor highlighted the significant role of the Odia community in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in the fields of education and social welfare. Expressing his gratitude, he lauded their contributions and hoped that the enduring goodwill between the two states would continue to strengthen and drive Arunachal Pradesh toward greater development under the vision of ‘Viksit Arunachal.’
The celebration featured cultural performances showcasing Odisha’s rich traditions. Participants presented ‘Vande Utkal Janani,’ the patriotic song by Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra, along with the traditional song ‘Ama Odisha.’ Miss Pratyusha, Miss Vedanti Patra, and Miss Ritumbra Dash performed traditional Odia dances such as ‘Asila Utkal Divas,’ ‘Sriksetra Dham,’ and ‘Ahe Nila Shaila,’ while Smt. Chinmayee Nayak and her team presented ‘Chira Charita Odisha’ Dance.
In line with the Governor’s endeavour of encouraging Arunachali children to embrace the cultural values of other states, Miss Manami Moyir Gamlin, an Arunachali student from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Nirjuli, performed ‘Mangalam,’ an Odissi dance piece set to rhythmic traditional ‘Bols’ as a prelude to a divine invocation.
As special guests of the Governor, the students and instructors from the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired, Chimpu, attended the celebration, adding to the event’s inclusivity and spirit of oneness.
The Governor hosted a High Tea and interacted with invitees and participants, making the event a memorable occasion of cultural exchange and camaraderie.
