ANINI, Apr 3: The Eco-Adventure Camp 3.0 in Anini was a resounding success, officially inaugurated on April 1, by the Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner, Pagli Sora. The event drew an impressive array of tourism stakeholders, including local entrepreneurs, travel agencies, and community members, all eager to seize the opportunities presented by adventure tourism in the region. This workshop, expertly organised by the Arunachal Photography Club, powered by the Department of Youth Affairs, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Anini successfully highlighted the importance of sustainable tourism practices that empower local communities.
Participants delved into an array of comprehensive technical sessions that covered essential topics. They explored homestays to experience the richness of local culture, learned effective management strategies in tour operations, and received a detailed trekking manual focusing on safe and environmentally responsible trekking practices. Hands-on sessions on photo walks allowed participants to capture the breathtaking landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, while wilderness first aid training instilled critical safety skills for outdoor activities. Additionally, sessions on experiential tourism and photography, including mobile photography techniques, further enhanced their skill sets. A village walk to the picturesque Gipulin village rounded out this rich experience.
The valedictory session was attended by Theko Tayu, Zila Parishad Chairperson of Dibang Valley District, who delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude to the organising committee and the Arunachal Photography Club for providing an exceptional experience to all tourism stakeholders.
Mrinal Bengia, President of the Arunachal Photography Club, expressed enthusiasm about the high turnout of participants and passionately encouraged everyone to continue transforming Anini into a premier tourist destination.
The workshop was also attended by Binam Messar, Executive Engineer, PWD; Lamwang Aran, District Tourism Officer; Moge Riba, APC Organizing Chairperson; Takam Arun Kamen, APC Vice President; Dr. Radhe Natung, Convener APC; along with other esteemed members of the APC and tourism stakeholders from Dibang Valley District.
