Itanagar, Mar 18: A team of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR)led by Chairman. Ratan Anya, submitted the observations and recommendations of the Commission to the Health Minister Biyuram Wahge in an interactive meeting with the Department of Health at the Civil Secretariat today.
During the meeting, the Commission presented a PowerPoint Presentation on the status of the health needs of Child with Special Needs (CWSN), Tobacco, Alcohol & Drug substance abuse and Sexual offences against children in the state. The Commission apprised the Minister about the lack of Developmental Paediatrician and Child Development Centres in the state for holistic development of the CWSNs. The Commission recommended the Department of Health for in-depth research and survey of status of CWSN in the state, extension Health Insurance under CMAAY to the CWSNs for availing the life supporting therapies which will provide immediate relief to the CWSN families and framing of government guidelines for operation and monitoring of Therapy Centres for CWNs in the state. In addition, the Commission also recommended for complete digitalizing and monitoring of sale of Schedule H, H1 and X drugs in all the pharmacies across the state and establishment of children specific de-addiction centre in the state along with other recommendations of the Commission.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohesh Chai, Advisor to Minister (Health), Pawan Kumar Sain, IAS, Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Ms. Ira Singhal, IAS, Secretary (H&FW), Senior Officers of the Health Department and Members of APSCPCR.
