NAMSAI, Dec 11: The All Arunachal Pradesh Workers Union (AAPWU), Namsai District has voiced strong resentment over the alleged disappearance of essential items meant for registered workers in the district.
Speaking to the media, President AAPWU-Namsai Chow Miong Longphoi revealed that over 300 sets of essential items, supplied by the Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB) headquarters to its Namsai branch, have gone missing.
“When our team visited the branch office to inquire, the authorities claimed the items had already been distributed. However, as per our knowledge, no worker has received these items yet,” Longphoi stated.
To ensure transparency, AAPWU-Namsai has demanded the release of the names of beneficiaries who purportedly received the items. Additionally, the union has sought critical information, including a complete list of registered workers in the district, details of workers whose registrations are due for renewal, and an inventory of items currently stored at the Namsai branch office, both new and old, meant for distribution.
The union further emphasized that these measures are essential to address the grievances of workers and ensure accountability in the distribution process. AAPWU-Namsai has vowed to continue its efforts to safeguard the rights and entitlements of the district's registered workers.
