Naharlagun, Dec 5: The Administrative Training Institute, Naharlagun organized  a two-day Orientation Training Program on Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 for Police officers and Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) officers involved in ground-level law enforcement. 
The program was attended by 33 participants including 20 APCS officers with 3 ADCs & 13 Police officers was facilitated by distinguished legal professionals namely, Adv.Nega Taying and Adv.Jaya Doji, both Legal Aid Counsels from Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. Their sessions focused on equipping participants with a thorough understanding of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, highlighting key amendments to criminal law, procedural reforms, and their implications for effective law enforcement.
The training which concluded today featured interactive discussions, and case studies, enabling the officers to grasp the practical applications of the new legal provisions. Participants gained valuable insights into ensuring justice delivery under the reformed legal framework while addressing challenges faced in ground-level implementation.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Pate Marik, the Director of the Institute lauded the resource persons and participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to the learning process. “This training serves as a stepping stone for implementing the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 efficiently and effectively. Such capacity-building initiatives will empower our officers to uphold the rule of law in a more robust and informed manner,” the Director remarked.
The Administrative Training Institute extended its gratitude to the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority for their collaboration and remains dedicated to conducting similar programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of government officers in the state in near future too.
