Itanagar, Dec 9: Chairing the State Task Force for Immunisation meeting, Director of Health Services Dr Riken Rina underscored the need to revitalise the workforce and adopt a multi-faceted approach to achieve a goal of 100% immunisation, ensuring that no child is left behind.
“The immunisation programmes for children and vaccinating them is a priority of the health department, but, at the same time, concerted and coordinated efforts of the other stakeholders like education and women and child development departments, and PRI members NGOs are equally important for the success of the programmes,” Dr Rina said.
Joint Director Family Welfare, Dr Marbom Basar emphasising on head count validation called for Robust District Task Force meetings. He urged the District Medical Officer to analyse the challenges leading to immunisation dropout and to develop comprehensive actionable strategies to improve immunisation.
NO (NHM) &SNO Dr D Padung in his presentation informed that state average of immunisation coverage is 80% but the target of 95% of full immunisation has to be achieved. Meanwhile highlighting the challenges posed by migration and dual citizenship in capturing accurate date, he emphasised the importance of UWIN Portal and inform that UWIN is a tracking portal developed by the Government of India to streamline and digitalise immunisation process.
