Pasighat, Aug 28: In a firm step towards ensuring quality education and discipline in schools, Pasang Dorjee Sona, Minister of Education, carried out surprise visits to several schools including Upper Primary School Lumpo, Government Higher Secondary School Sille, Government Higher Secondary School Nari, Government Indira Gandhi Upper Primary School Pasighat, and Government Lal Bahadur Shastri Upper Primary School Pasighat.
During the course of the visits, the Minister took detailed stock of the functioning of the schools. While appreciating positive practices where visible, he also expressed serious concern over the breach of norms in certain institutions. He categorically instructed school authorities and staff to refrain from such practices immediately, underscoring that discipline and adherence to regulations are non-negotiable in an education system that aspires to serve the best interest of students.
A major concern highlighted during the inspections was the issue of teachers failing to report to their designated posts even after transfer postings. The Minister emphasized that such dereliction of duty directly affects the education and future of children and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed strict monitoring and made it clear that disciplinary actions will be initiated against those found absent without valid reasons.
Reiterating the government’s commitment under the Pema 3.0 vision, Shri Sona affirmed that all efforts are being made to improve the state’s educational landscape through infrastructure upgradation, school mergers for effective utilization of resources, and strict accountability of teachers and staff.
“Our children deserve quality education in a disciplined and healthy environment. Every stakeholder - be it administrators, teachers, or policymakers - has a duty to deliver this with sincerity and dedication,” Sona stated.
The Minister assured that such inspections will continue across the state to ensure compliance, transparency, and accountability in the education sector. The government remains steadfast in its mission to build a strong, equitable, and student-centered education system for Arunachal Pradesh.
