Namsai, Aug 10: The Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (SDE), in collaboration with Honda India Foundation and Visan Foundation, successfully concluded a two-month Food & Beverage Skill Development Training program at Village Innao, Diyun, Changlang District. This initiative was designed to equip the local youth with practical skills and employment opportunities in the hospitality sector.
Launched on June 4, the training program enrolled 30 candidates who were taught essential hospitality competencies, including types of food and service techniques, table setup before service, and knowledge of various beverages. To ensure hands-on experience, all trainees participated in a 3-day On-the-Job Training (OJT) at Hotel Kinnara, Namsai, where they gained real-world exposure to professional service environments.
All 30 trainees were awarded Completion Certificates, while 29 received Offer Letters—underscoring the program’s strong employment linkage and real-world impact. The event was attended by Bullo Mamu, Secretary, Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship; C.R. Khampa, Deputy Commissioner, Namsai; and Sibo Passing, Joint Secretary-cum-Director of the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner C.R. Khampa emphasized the vast potential for skill development in Namsai District. He highlighted the scope for agriculture-based training programs and assured that similar initiatives would be organized in the future to meet local employment needs.
