NEW DELHI, Nov 19: One Jermi Nablam, a Class 9 student from Ekalavya Model Residential School (EMRS) Bana in Bichum district represented Arunachal at the national "Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas Samaroh" in Jamui, Bihar.
Organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the event was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who interacted personally with the selected students.
Nablam also emerged victorious in a state-level drawing competition, being one of six students nationally chosen to showcase their artistic talents. The young artist performed a live painting session before the Prime Minister, capturing the essence of tribal heritage.
The event celebrated the contributions of indigenous communities, providing a platform for tribal youth to demonstrate their potential on a national stage.
"This is a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh," an official said, highlighting the significance of such initiatives in empowering tribal communities and recognizing their cultural richness.
The EMRS Bana administration and state officials have expressed pride in Nablam's achievement, viewing it as a testament to the growing opportunities for tribal students.
