PASIGHAT, Nov 28: A health department Regional Review meeting chaired by Minister Health & Family Welfare, Biyuram Wahge  along with his Advisor Dr. Mohesh Chai, Chief Secretary i/c Kaling Tayeng and Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sain on Wednesday where the Health Minister took a comprehensive review of the health scenario of the seven Siang belt districts of the region. Discussions were also held on the status  of the key performance indices of health departments of the seven districts, safety and security audits undertaken in District Hospitals, status of ongoing health infrastructure projects in the seven Siang belt districts including  waste management and sanitation in District General  Hospitals and government health facilities etc during  the one-day Regional Review meeting organized by the East Siang District Health Society held at DC Conference Hall here.
Respective DCs, SPs and DMOs , EE PHEs of Siang belt districts  comprising of East Siang, West Siang, Siang,Upper Siang, Shi- Yomi, Lower Siang, Leparada attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by  Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Ira Singhal, Ruksin MLA  Ninong Ering and local Pasighat MLA  Tapi Darang along with senior health officials.
The Health Minister reiterating  the fact that correct data is vital to gauge the performance of any district in the key performance indices of health, urged the district officials to ensure all data is being entered correctly into the system. He stressed that there should be no mismatch between the data and the actual performance.He also suggested that the district authorities set district specific targets for different programmes under health department  such as TB MUKT, Nasha Mukt Abhiyans,  100% Immunisation coverage , Health coverage under CMAAY and AB-  PMJAY etc  and other NHM programmes. Further in order to ensure financial prudence and equitable distribution of health infrastructure, he suggested scrapping of health facilities which are non-functional and proposals for creation and upgradation where genuinely needed. 
He stressed on the importance of health digitalisation like e-swasthya (Online appointment system of doctors by patients). He  sought cooperation from DCs and SPs for ensuring security of hospital staffs and patients attending the hospitals and issue of LPCs/ allotment documents for the health facilities.
Advisor to Health Minister, Dr. Mohesh Chai  while empahsising the threat of the menace of drugs addiction in the state pointed out to the programmes for de-addiction need to be scientific in their approach. He also asked for proper certification and monitoring  of drug de addiction centres which are manned by well- trained manpower. 
Earlier, CS Incharge Kaling Tayeng  apprised the gathering about State  Government ‘s initiative to strengthen the Zonal General Govt Hospitals adding that subsequent efforts made for the same. For the new districts, he called upon the districts officials led by the DC to involve all stakeholders for better planning of health infrastructure. Site selection and requirements need to be properly planned out. He also suggested that impetus be given to Tertiary health care services through Tertiary Hospitals like BPGH & TRIHMS.
Commissioner H& FW, Pawan Kumar Sain during the review meeting also asked for sharing and  replicating the best practices setting health competitions in introducing best practices in their respective districts and on IEC activities on Water and Sanitation. DIPRO
