Sagalee, Nov 15: A newly constructed assembly shed at the Govt. Girls’ Residential School, Sarkha Happa, Nimte was formally inaugurated on Friday by Vishakha Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Papum Pare District, in the presence of Yame Higio, ADC, Sagalee.
Addressing the gathering, Vishakha Yadav recalled her visit to the school in July 2025, during which she interacted with students and teachers in an open area and was apprised of the infrastructural challenges faced by the institution.
She stated that the construction of the assembly shed was a direct outcome of that interaction.
She expressed satisfaction that the school had already hosted its Annual School Week celebrations, including cultural programmes, in the newly built shed.
She advised the students to remain focused on their goals and emphasised the importance of balancing academics with mental well-being and regular physical exercise.
Speaking on the occasion, Yame Higio, ADC Sagalee, informed that the assembly shed had been constructed without any government funds so far. She commended Teli Lala, the contractor, for completing the project within one month without financial support from the administration.
She further assured that the payment for the Assembly Shed shall be made jointly from the DC’s and ADC’s untied funds as soon as the funds are available from the Government.
