In his message, the Governor said that festivals symbolize the beauty of diversity and the richness of our Indian cultural heritage. Pongal, and Magh Bihu, marking the harvest and renewal season, celebrate hope, joy, and prosperity. Makar Sankranti, one of the most significant festivals for Hindus, is observed with deep devotion and enthusiasm across the country. He said it is the time when millions of devotees take a sacred dip in holy waters at places like Gangasagar, Prayag, and Parasuram Kund in Arunachal Pradesh to offer prayers to Lord Surya. As we welcome devotees and pilgrims to Parasuram Kund, I offer my prayers for their safety and a serene, spiritually uplifting experience, he said.
