ROING, Dec 8: A black panther which was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on the Roing-Tezu Trans Arunachal Highway on December 6 last, is getting immediate care from the officials of the Forest Department. Swift intervention by forest officials and conservationists ensured the animal was rescued and given critical care.
The rescue operation was led by the Lower Dibang Valley Forest and Wildlife team, with significant assistance from the Roing Mini-Zoo staff. Despite its severe injuries, the panther was stabilized and transported to safety for treatment, where experts are closely monitoring its condition.
Forest Minister Wanki Lowang in a social media platform lauded the quick response, stating, “The swift rescue of an injured black panther near the Roing-Tezu Trans-Arunachal Highway highlights the unwavering dedication of our forest officials and wildlife conservation teams. I appreciate the efforts of the Lower Dibang Valley team and the Roing Mini-Zoo staff for their prompt action in ensuring this majestic creature receives the care it desperately needs.”
The Minister further urged immediate action to safeguard wildlife in the region. “This incident serves as a reminder of Arunachal’s unique and fragile wildlife heritage,” he said. “Together, let us strengthen our commitment to protecting these treasures and work towards preventing such incidents in the future.”
