Naharlagun, Aug 18: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Naharlagun has commenced Phase-II of its 4-Day Orientation Program on the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) 2022. The training, running from August 18–21, is designed to strengthen the pedagogical skills of 40 pre-primary and primary teachers from Papum Pare district in alignment with NCF-FS 2022 and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Deputy Commissioner Vishakha Yadav (IAS), inaugurated the program in the presence of Nabam Hina Doriak, DPC Itanagar Capital Complex, and P.T. Riba, Principal, DIET Naharlagun. 
In her address, Yadav emphasized the importance of a sound early learning, urging teachers to act as facilitators of learning, foster creativity, and make effective use of Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs). She assured timely monitoring to ensure classroom application of the training.
Principal Riba outlined the objectives of the program and commended the active participation of teachers in Phase-I (5–8 August 2025). She expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for her support and highlighted DIET’s commitment to improving the foundational stage of education.
As part of the inaugural program, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the ECCE room and arts-and-crafts gallery, which showcased innovative use of locally available materials. PSTE students also performed a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) activity, reflecting DIET’s focus on experiential and resource-based learning.
