Anini, Aug 8: The Dibang Valley Police has decisively launched a vital outreach and awareness program titled "Dibang Valley Police Module" at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Anini, as part of the extended Independence Day celebrations. Spanning two days, on August 8 and 9, this initiative is specifically designed to equip students from Classes 7 to 12 with crucial knowledge surrounding civic awareness, legal literacy, safety, and empowerment. The Principal in charge of JNV Anini, Rintu Sil, commended the Dibang Valley Police for their initiative in developing this essential educational module for the students.
The program kicked off with an impactful inaugural session delivered by Superintendent of Police Manish Shaurya, IPS. He provided a comprehensive address on the Constitutional Rights of Citizens, underscoring the protections guaranteed by the Constitution, particularly during police interactions, while reinforcing the necessity for citizens to be fully aware of their rights.
Throughout the Dibang Valley Police Module, a series of focused lectures were delivered by experienced district police officers. Inspector Prahlad Nath tackled the critical issue of Drug Abuse and presented an overview of the NDPS Act, raising essential awareness about the devastating effects of narcotics and the legal framework established to confront these challenges. Sub-Inspectors Yon Yao and L. Bolok took a strong stance on Cyber Crime and Digital Safety Awareness, empowering students with the knowledge of safe online practices and the procedures for reporting cybercrime.
A crucial session on the POCSO Act and Child Safety Awareness was conducted by L/Ct. Neja Ngongwa, L/Ct. Sumi Wangsa, L/Ct. Soney Tayeng, and L/Ct. Mumyam Dameng. They delivered important insights regarding the legal protections in place to safeguard children from exploitation. Furthermore, Sub-Inspector Chote Lal Sahani emphasized Traffic Rules and Road Safety Awareness, highlighting the indispensable need for helmets, seat belts, and strict adherence to traffic regulations. The program culminated with an assertive discussion on Gender Sensitization and Women Empowerment, led by L/Ct. Neja Ngongwa, L/Ct. Sumi Wangsa, L/Ct. Soney Tayeng, and L/Ct. Mumyam Dameng, aimed exclusively at inspiring female students towards equality, respect, and proactive empowerment measures.
The Dibang Valley Police Module witnessed overwhelming engagement from students and faculty alike, with vigorous question-and-answer sessions, practical examples, and actionable advice fostering a dynamic and relevant learning environment.
In conclusion, SP Manish Shaurya declared, “The Dibang Valley Police Module is not merely informational; it is a strategic effort to forge a trusted relationship between the police and the youth, preparing them to become aware, responsible, and empowered citizens.”
