Itanagar, Nov 20: As part of the preparations for the upcoming Panchayati Raj Election 2025, a briefing session for the Assistant Nodal Officers attached to all 16 Returning Officers of Papum Pare district was conducted on Thursday at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall.
During the session, the ANOs were instructed on the procedures for maintaining and inspecting the daily election expenditure of candidates. Officials clarified that all expenditures incurred by candidates—from the date of notification of the election in their constituencies until the declaration of results—must be accurately recorded. ANOs were also advised to ensure that candidates open or use a dedicated bank account exclusively for election-related expenses.
The briefing further highlighted that failure to comply with expenditure norms by any contesting candidate could invite punitive action under Section 171 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
District Election Officer Vishakha Yadav, urged the officers to perform their duties with sincerity and diligence to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the elections in Papum Pare district.
