BASAR, Jan 13: Exemplifying courage, readiness and humanitarian spirit, the Spearhead Division under Spear Corps once again proved its role as a pillar of support for civilians in Arunachal Pradesh’s challenging terrain.
A civilian Bolero pickup met with a serious accident and plunged nearly 60 metres down a steep slope in Basar district, finally halting perilously close to a residential house. The incident had the potential to turn fatal, but timely Army intervention ensured there were no casualties.
Responding without delay, a specialised recovery team comprising one JCO and four soldiers, supported by a heavy recovery vehicle, rushed to the accident site. Navigating difficult gradients and unstable ground, the team carried out a complex and high-risk recovery operation, safely retrieving the damaged vehicle through disciplined execution and seamless coordination.
The rescue and recovery were conducted with utmost professionalism, prioritising safety of civilians, protection of property and uninterrupted local movement. The swift response highlighted the Indian Army’s operational excellence and humanitarian commitment, particularly in remote and high-risk regions.
Through such selfless actions, Spear Corps continues to reinforce strong civil–military ties, standing ever prepared to assist the people and serve the nation whenever duty calls, stated a release.
