ITANAGAR, Dec 9: An awareness campaign focusing on Gender-Based Violence and the NALSA Scheme 2024 for Child-Friendly Legal Services and Legal Services for Persons with Mental Illness and Intellectual Disabilities was organized at the Government Upper Primary School, Lorr Village on Monday.
The event has been organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS), in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), One Stop Centre, Itanagar, and Bodhana NGO.
Adv. Kamin Danggen, a resource person from APSLSA, explained the significance of the NALSA schemes and how they empower children and individuals with mental health and intellectual disabilities to access legal aid and support.
President APWWS Kani Nada Maling, addressed the participants, emphasizing the urgency of addressing gender-based violence and fostering a society that promotes equality and respect.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from APWWS members, staff from the One Stop Centre, school headmaster Atul Bagang, teaching faculty, and students.
In addition to an awareness programme, a workshop,painting session, and live performance by Bodhana NGO, which portrays the impact of gender-based violence and the need for collective action to combat it, was also held.
