ITANAGAR, Jan 27: Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the 76th Republic Day on Sunday with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor; series of functions were held at the district level to commemorate the occasion.
The main Republic Day function was held at Indira Gandhi Park, where Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) unfurled the Tri-color and took salute at the march-past. The governor in his speech said that Arunachal Pradesh is making great strides in line with India’s vision of becoming a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. Parnaik said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the state is seeing impressive progress in various areas, ensuring growth that benefits everyone while focusing on sustainable development. Our economy is growing at a rate of about 11.01%, which is higher than the national average. This shows the commitment of the people of Arunachal Pradesh to continue on the path of development and improvement, Parnaik said.
AALO: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage, unfurled the National Flag at the 76th Republic Day function. Highlighting the district’s progress over the years in the field of healthcare, education and infrastructure, she encouraged the students to dream big and contribute to the progress of the area. The DC also urged parents, educators, community leaders to work together to restore West Siang's legacy as leader in education. The Republic Day was also celebrated at Yomcha ADC headquarters and Liromoba EAC headquarters including all circle headquarters.
TAWANG: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across Tawang district. The celebrations commenced with patriotic slogans and Prabhat Pheris organized by government schools, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag at various institutions, offices, and public buildings.
The main event took place at the General Parade Ground, where a large gathering of the general public, officials, and dignitaries participated in the grand celebration. The Incharge Deputy Commissioner, Tawang, Sangey Wangmu Mosobi, unfurled the National Flag amidst a guard of honour presented by contingents of the Arunachal Pradesh Police, Sashastra Seema Bal
(SSB), NCC cadets, Scouts, Guides, Cub Bulbuls, and a military band display by jawans of the Lungrola Battalion of the Indian Army.
The event was graced by MLA Tawang, Namgey Tsering, SP Tawang Dr. DW Thongon, senior officers from the Tawang Brigade, heads of central and state government offices, monks, nuns, and thousands of citizens.
In her Republic Day address, Incharge DC Sangey Wangmu Mosobi paid homage to the freedom fighters and acknowledged the contributions of former and present legislators, public leaders, and social workers in the nation’s and the state’s development. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army and security forces for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders.
Commendation certificates and cash awards were presented to government employees and social workers for their outstanding services. Subdivisions and administrative centers across the district also marked the day with great enthusiasm.
BOMDILA: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with pomp and gaiety at Buddha Stadium, Bomdila, as well as in other Sub-Divisions of West Kameng District. The event featured a vibrant and diverse display of cultural performances by various tribes, alongside parade contingents.
West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Akriti Sagar unfurled the National Flag in the presence of the Superintendent of Police, Heads of Departments, PRI leaders, and the public of West Kameng District. In her speech, Sagar highlighted the significance of celebrating Republic Day and emphasized the development and achievements of the district.
Expressing concern over the growing issue of narcotics consumption, she appealed to the public, especially to the youth, to stay away from such substances. She also urged farmers and the public to refrain from cultivating cannabis, which she warned could jeopardize the future of the younger generation.
Sagar also commended the West Kameng Police Department for its commitment and relentless efforts in curbing the drug menace in the district.

YACHULI : January 26th marked a momentous occasion for the newly established Keyi Panyor, as the district celebrated its first-ever Republic Day. The celebrations were held with great enthusiasm, bringing together government officials, public representatives, and citizens in a display of patriotism and unity.
In her address, Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta emphasized the importance of freedom and the Indian Constitution in shaping the country’s democratic fabric. YINGKIONG: The 76th Republic Day celebrated across Upper Siang in a befitting manner. At Yingkiong, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Hq), Rajive Chiduni graced the occasion as chief guest and unfurled the national flag at general ground amidst the presence of huge gatherings.
Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the achievements of various schemes implemented by various departments and congratulated the denizens of remote villages-- Singa and Bishing for being connected through motorable roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and mobile network connectivity.
During the celebration Commendation Certificates were conferred to Sri Onyok Tekseng-a progressive farmer of Yingkiong for outstanding performance in integrated farming sector, Smti Pormila Megu Pertin, ADO, Mariyang for meritorious works,Smti Jingul Jamoh, Health and Wellness Officer, Janbo for excellent contributions in health care activities at HWC Janbo, Smti Jojmoti Jijong, ANM , District Hospital, Yingkiong for her meritorious service, Constable Gewang Hakhun and Constable Sanjay Kumar Gupta for their exemplary service in saving the life of unattended accident person at Yingkiong. Addressing the gathering, he paid tribute to freedom fighters, defence forces, and silent voters contributing to a self-reliant and prosperous nation.
He highlighted various welfare programs by the Central Government urging citizens to benefit from schemes across sectors like agriculture, health, tourism, and industries.
He also announced a Mega Health Camp on February 4 at the District Hospital Doimukh and encouraged officials to dedicate themselves to community service.
As a part of the celebrations certificates of commendation were distributed which was followed by the inauguration of stalls by various departments and agencies.
The event concluded with cultural performances, Taekwondo demonstrations, and safety drills by the NDRF. Token of appreciation and prizes were distributed to participants and competition winners, marking a successful and engaging celebration.
PASIGHAT: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu unfurled the national tri-colour, took Rastriya Salute and inspected the gala march past of thirteen contingents, at the Pasighat Outdoor Stadium ground in presence of MLA Tapi Darang, SP Pankaj Lamba, prominent officers, leaders, retired bureaucrats and general public.
In his address, he outlined the priorities of the East Siang District Administration for providing responsive and time bound commitment towards service delivery to the people of the district.
Amongst major achievements of the district, the DC informed that all construction works related to Smart City Mission are in progress and highlighted the achievements and milestones made by the health, education, agri-horti and other government departments of the district in various sectors. School children presented patriotic song and dances mesmerizing the audience.
Commendation certificates were also handed over to the achievers for their dedicated and sincere services.
The 76th Republic Day of India was also celebrated befittingly at Ruksin ADC headquarters.
