PASIGHAT Mar 29:
The 3-month long vocational training for school dropouts on “Production Technology of High Value Flowers and Medicinal Crops” and “Protected Cultivation of High Value Horticulture crops” which started on 29th December 2016 last was successfully completed in the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University, Pasighat today.
Gracing the valedictory function as a Chief Guest and distributing the certificates, farming tools and seeds to the participants, Kento Rina, MLA 36th Nari- Koyu urged the participants to go back to their respective villages and disseminate the knowledge among other people. Rina also mentioned about the difficulties faced by farming communities in Arunachal Pradesh.
While, Dr. A.K.Pandey patron of the programme and Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat mentioned about the importance of the vocational training and its role in imparting the technical skill to the school dropouts. He also opined hoped that, the course directors of both the trainings, Dr. TS Mehra and Dr. P Sharma have elaborated upon the knowledge and hands on training given to the participants during the training programme.
