ITANAGAR, Dec 4: Social activist Sol Dodum has once again brought the spotlight back on the alleged Lada–Sarli Frontier Highway compensation scam, accusing the government of misleading the public and allowing corruption to flourish.
Speaking at a press conference today, Sol Dodum alleged that large amounts of compensation were released to non-eligible and fake beneficiaries, while several individuals were overpaid, causing a major loss to the state exchequer.
Dodum demanded that the matter be immediately handed over to the ED and CBI for a transparent investigation, along with the full recovery of the compensation amounts issued fraudulently. He criticised the authorities for dragging their feet and failing to act despite multiple complaints and public concerns.
The activist also alleged that the Chief Minister Pema Khandu, is “deceiving the people” with repeated claims of Zero Tolerance on Corruption, while such scams continue unchecked. Dodum said he is even willing to provide bank account details showing where the compensation money was transferred, including transactions allegedly linked to government officials.
Calling the delay by departments “unjustifiable,” Dodum said the irregularities have already caused severe inconvenience to the public, and the government’s silence raises more suspicion.
The people deserve answers. We cannot allow such a serious issue to be buried under files,” he asserted.
He cautioned that if the government continues to ignore the matter, he and his supporters are ready to take their movement to the streets, intensifying their protest until accountability is ensured.
