ZIRO, Sep 4 : With anticipation building for the Ziro Festival of Music 2026, key administrative officials and local stakeholders gathered today at the DC Office Golden Jubilee Hall to lay the groundwork for a smooth, well-coordinated event.
Chaired by MLA Hage Appa, alongside in-charge Deputy Commissioner Hage Tarung and Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra, the session focused on seamless teamwork, venue logistics, and community engagement.
Opening the meeting, the MLA reminded attendees that while the festival originated in the heartland of the Apatani community, it has grown into a vibrant cultural showcase representing all tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. He called on every department to work in unison to deliver a safe, welcoming experience for artists, locals, and visitors alike.
The discussion covered a wide range of operational priorities, with specific tasks assigned to essential service teams including Public Works, Power, Public Health Engineering, Emergency Services, and Traffic Control. A primary focus was placed on sustainability, highlighted by a dedicated presentation from the Urban Development team outlining comprehensive solid waste management plans to keep the festival grounds clean. Meanwhile, SP Keni Bagra briefed the floor on security protocols, confirming that a clear, accessible traffic route map will be finalised and shared with the public shortly.
The planning session also provided a platform for grassroots voices, drawing practical feedback from Panchayati Raj leaders, local CBOs, NGOs, trade bodies, and tourism representatives. Wrapping up the discussion, Hage Appa expressed strong confidence in the community's collective spirit to execute an exceptional festival. The meeting officially concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Circle Officer Hibu Kapi.
