Itanagar, Oct 13: The Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Department of Printing & Stationery, has officially launched a two-month vocational and skill training program focused on Offset Machine Operation and Binding Works. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Directorate of Printing & Stationery, Naharlagun.
The inauguration ceremony was inaugurated by Bullo Mamu, Secretary, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Nyali Ete, Secretary, IPR, Printing & Stationery. Their presence highlighted the significance of the event and emphasised the collaborative efforts between departments to promote skill development and public engagement.
A total of 35 trainees have been enrolled in this specialised program, which will cover: Operation of offset printing machines, Pre-printing preparations and technical functions, Binding and finishing techniques
In her keynote address, Bullo Mamu emphasised that this is the first-ever training program in the Printing & Binding sector in Arunachal Pradesh. She highlighted that the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship had conducted a skill gap analysis and identified a lack of trained professionals in this domain among local youth. Based on these findings, the department initiated this program in collaboration with the Department of Printing & Stationery. She further noted that such targeted skill development initiatives are crucial in today’s employment landscape, especially in sectors with growing demand across India. She assured that the department would continue to support trainees seeking employment opportunities both within and outside the state.
Nyali Ete, in his remarks, praised the initiative as a commendable collaboration between the two departments. He stated, “This type of skill development programme is a good initiative by both departments. It will help the youth support their livelihood.” He encouraged all trainees to take the training seriously and make the most of the opportunity provided.
Sibo Passing, Joint Secretary-cum-Director, Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, extended his best wishes to all trainees. He expressed confidence that the training would equip participants with industry-relevant skills, making them competent and employable in the growing printing and publishing sector. “This program is designed to meet the current demand in the industry and will help our youth become skilled workers ready for the job market,” he stated.

Senior Consultants from the Skill Development Department, Vivek Raturi and Suman Shukla.
