SEPPA,Nov 14: In an unprecedented show of public unity and youth strength, the All Nyishi Youth Association–East Kameng District Unit (ANYA-EKDU) has launched a massive foot march from Seppa to the state capital Itanagar, protesting the alleged multi-crore Land Compensation Scam linked to the Lada–Sarli Frontier Highway project.
The rally began at dawn in Seppa, where hundreds of local residents, aggrieved landowners, and enthusiastic youth volunteers gathered with banners and slogans demanding justice, accountability, and an end to corruption. The march will cover more than 200 km, reflecting the determination of the ANYA to fight for transparency and fairness in the highly controversial compensation process.
Although the state government has already suspended four district officials and recommended the suspension of the East Kameng Deputy Commissioner, ANYA asserts that these steps are far from adequate. The association argued that true justice can only be achieved through arrests, prosecution, and full recovery of misappropriated public funds.
Leading the rally, President ANYA-EK  Ramesh Taku while speaking to the media  said
“This is not just a march—this is a movement for justice. Our people have been cheated. Our landowners have been betrayed. Suspension is not punishment. We demand immediate arrest of everyone involved, a transparent investigation, and restoration of the rights and dignity of the affected families. We will continue this democratic fight until every truth is exposed and every wrong is corrected.”
ANYA’s key demands include the arrest and prosecution of all officials and private individuals involved in the scam, a Court-monitored, time-bound investigation into all irregularities in the compensation process, Recovery of misused or fraudulently obtained compensation funds, Protection of genuine landowners who were deprived during the compensation disbursement, and  Public disclosure of all compensation beneficiaries for transparency, stated the President.
The alleged scam, which involves inflated compensation claims, manipulation of records, and exclusion of genuine landowners, has deeply shaken public confidence in the administration. The Lada–Sarli section, a crucial 125.55 km part of the 1,748 km Arunachal Frontier Highway along the India–China border, has become the center of widespread allegations of fraud, affecting thousands of families across East Kameng.
