Namsai, Oct 23: The Namsai District Congress Committee (DCC), President Ambika Enling has launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP, accusing it of neglecting the poor and failing to deliver genuine development in Namsai district.
Addressing media persons, Enling stated that despite serving the BJP for nearly three decades in various capacities, he witnessed a drastic change after 2017 when “parachute leaders” from Congress who joined the BJP sidelined the party’s original and dedicated workers.
He alleged that welfare schemes meant for the common people, such as the Jal Jeevan Mission and others, have failed to reach the needy of Namsai District. “Only those close to BJP leaders are benefitting from these schemes, while the poor continue to suffer. I have now decided to dedicate myself to the service of the deprived and downtrodden people of Namsai,” Enling said.
Responding to queries about his decision to switch from the ruling BJP to the opposition, he said, “My only aim is to serve the people — especially those who have been ignored for too long.”
On the upcoming Panchayat Elections, the DCC President announced that the Congress party is fully prepared to contest in all possible seats. “Before filing nominations, we will reach the grassroots, interact with the people, and make them aware of their rights. There are ample government funds meant for public welfare, but they have never reached the hands of the common people of Namsai,” he asserted.
Enling concluded by reaffirming the Congress party’s commitment to restore transparency, accountability, and inclusive development in Namsai district.
