Indian Army constructs homestay in remote border village
TAKSING, Dec 30: In a significant boost to border area development and community welfare, the Indian Army, under Operation Sadbhavna, has constructed a double-storey homestay at the remote border village of Taksing in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The facility has been dedicated to the local community as part of the Vibrant Village Programme, aimed at transforming border villages into hubs of economic activity and resilience.
The project has been executed by the Spearhead Division of Spear Corps with the objective of strengthening civil–military cooperation, generating sustainable livelihood opportunities, and promoting border tourism in this strategically sensitive region. The newly constructed homestay is expected to serve as a dependable source of income for local residents while significantly improving tourism-related infrastructure in the area.
Local villagers have warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for the Indian Army’s continued support and commitment to inclusive development in remote and border areas. Community members acknowledged that such initiatives not only enhance economic prospects but also foster trust and cooperation between the armed forces and local populations.
The initiative reflects the spirit of “Seema Suraksha ke Saath Sabka Vikas aur Sabka Vishwas,” reinforcing the Indian Army’s dual role of safeguarding national borders while actively contributing to the socio-economic upliftment of border communities, stated a release.
