New Delhi, Dec 22: A delegation of the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP), led by its President Dr. Emi Rumi, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence in New Delhi today.
The delegation included Er. Katung Wahge, Chairman, Donyi Polo Charitable Trust and former President IFCSAP; Er. DibangTayeng , Secretary General, Donyi Pollo Yelam Kebang; Techi Gubin, President, Arunachal Vikas Parishad and Vice President All India Kalyan Ashram; and Advocate Tambo Tamin, former General Secretary of IFCSAP.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the urgent need for implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act (APFRA)- 1978, and sought the Home Minister’s intervention for the early framing of its rules, which has remained pending for decades.
Shah assured the delegation that necessary steps would be taken to ensure the framing of the rules for APFRA, marking a significant and positive development for the Indigenous Faith believers of Arunachal Pradesh.
IFCSAP has been consistently working and engaging with all concerned authorities to ensure the early framing of rules and effective implementation of APFRA. This assurance from the Union Home Minister has been received as a moment of jubilation and joy by the Indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh.
The Indigenous Faith believers have expressed their deep gratitude to Amit Shah, stating that this development is a hopeful and positive beginning for the year ahead, strengthening the protection of Indigenous faith, culture, and traditions of the state.
