Itanagar, Nov 25: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the special occasion of Constitution Day. He said that the day, observed nationwide to mark the adoption of our Constitution on 26th November 1949, reminds all of the vision, wisdom, and labour that shaped modern India, and deepens our appreciation for its chief architect, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
In his message, the Governor said that the Constitution of India, which came into force on 26th January 1950, ushered in a new era for the Republic of India. It declared our nation a sovereign, democratic republic, committed to justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity for all citizens. As the longest written constitution in the world, it has guided India through decades of growth and transformation, standing firm as the backbone of our democratic success, he said.
The Governor further said that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the Chairman of the Drafting Committee, devoted his life to creating a Constitution that protected the rights and dignity of every citizen, especially the socially and economically disadvantaged. His legacy as a visionary jurist, statesman, and champion of equality continues to inspire our national journey, he said.
On this momentous day, I urge all citizens of Arunachal Pradesh to uphold the sanctity of our Constitution and to honour the Fundamental Duties it entrusts to each of us. Let us reaffirm our responsibility to nurture a just, harmonious, and progressive society, the Governor exhorted in his message.
