Itanagar, Nov 11: After a brief pause, air cargo services from Donyi Polo Airport has been restored on Tuesday. This comes following constant persuasions by the State’s Minister-incharge for Civil Aviation, Balo Raja with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
It may be noted that the air cargo services was temporarily put on hold by the Indigo airline following shifting of the operations to the newly inaugurated terminal building of the Donyi Polo Airport.
Earlier on October 24, the State Trade & Commerce department informed the Minister about the difficulties being faced by them including various registered and participating MSMEs of the State in dispatching their consignments meant for the ensuing India-International Trade Fair-2025 (November 14-27) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi for want of the air-cargo services from here.
Since then, the Minister and his office were taking up the issue and perusing with the Airport Director as well as the Regional Director, BCAS and finally the approval/security vetting for resuming the cargo services has been conveyed by the BCAS today.
The Director, Donyi Polo Airport informed the Minister’s office that the Indigo airline has already taken all necessary arrangements for resumption of the services and therefore, the cargo services will be available with immediate effect.
