Sona stresses on holistic education to truly nurture future generations
Itanagar, Jul 21: The All Arunachal Pradesh Workers Union (AAPWU), affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), met Advisor to Chief Minister, Kamlung Mossang and submitted a five-point memorandum seeking urgent intervention on various labour welfare issues.
The union strongly opposed the Limited Departmental Examination conducted by APSSB for LDC and other posts. Citing challenges faced by long-serving staff with limited academic exposure, AAPWU urged the government to cancel the exam and instead conduct promotions through Departmental Promotion Committees (DPC), as per Memo No. AR-54/2016.
AAPWU also demanded the creation of C-I & C-II sanctioned posts across departments and the regularization of casual/contingency staff serving for over 15 years. With the expansion of administrative units in the state, the union emphasized the need for strengthening departmental manpower.
Further, AAPWU called for a one-time regularization of W/C Adhoc and W/C (T) employees, some of whom have served 6–10 years without being regularized. They highlighted the service hardships faced by these workers despite holding sanctioned posts.
The union also sought the immediate release of the one-time Rs. 3 lakh retirement benefit under the 'Arunachal Karmayogi Samman Nidhi' scheme for workers retiring at 60, including those with shorter service tenures.
Lastly, the union urged authorities to upgrade Muster Roll staff to Casual/Contingency status as per departmental vacancies, citing hardships due to irregular wages.
