Sona stresses on holistic education to truly nurture future generations
Itanagar, Jul 25: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) team led by Chairperson Yalem Taga Burang accompanied by Vice Chairperson , Members and Member Secretary visited the One Stop Centre (OSC) located at Zoo Road Officer Colony, Itanagar.
The team made their first official visit to take stock of the condition and functioning of the OSC. While interacting with the staff, the team was informed that the centre does not have their permanent building currently they are accommodated at BPL quarter Chimpu, which at times hampers the smooth functioning of the centre since as per the guidelines the centre should be located within 200 metre radius of a Police Station and Hospital. Due to lack of permanent building the centre faces security issues and most importantly non-availability of a counsellor is the biggest issue they are enduring right now.
There are 23 (twenty three) OSC in the state running as of now. Many are not aware of their services such as emergency response and rescue services, medical assistance, assistance in lodging FIR/NCR/DIR, psycho-social support, counselling, legal aid and shelter.
The APSCW has urged the State Government to look into the matter as it will aid needy people and destitute women who are unaware of legal assistance.
