RAGA, Sep 6: Arunachal Pradesh Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Fisheries, Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs and Food & Civil Supply, Gabriel D. Wangsu, made an impromptu visit to Raga, the district headquarters of Kamle District, on Friday.
The minister held a comprehensive review meeting at the Conference Hall of Raga Circuit House and conducted extensive field visits to assess the agricultural and developmental progress in the region.
During the review session, departments of Agriculture and Allied services presented detailed PowerPoint presentations showcasing their achievements and ongoing initiatives. However, officials also raised concerns about critical staff shortages hampering departmental operations in the district.
In his address, Minister Wangsu emphasied the urgent need for a comprehensive master plan with a clear developmental roadmap. He stressed the importance of proper land use planning and strategic acquisitions to maximize benefits for the local population.
"We need to prioritize initiatives that will genuinely help our people and identify the unique potential of this region across various development sectors," the minister stated.
Wangsu specifically highlighted the promising prospects for kiwi and cardamom cultivation in the region, directing officers to conduct thorough surveys to identify suitable locations for these high-value crops. He urged department heads to ensure that no pesticides or adulterated products enter what he termed this "virgin district."
Following the review meeting, Minister Wangsu conducted comprehensive field visits to various developmental sites across Raga including the ongoing development projects throughout Raga, Fish pond facility at Pah Nallah, Kicho, Orange garden near the Mini Secretariat, Yada (Raga) and Palm oil intercropping farm at Buscamp.
During his interactions with officials, Minister Wangsu emphasized the importance of dedicated service and urged officers to work diligently toward resolving district-level issues. He stressed that their expertise and inputs would be crucial for the district's developmental trajectory.
He was accompanied by Sri Hage Tari (IOFS), Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development (AHVDD), along with the District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and senior officers from concerned departments of Kamle District.
