Doimukh, Sep 3: A one-day Youth Conclave on the theme ‘Citizen Duties’ was organized at the Mini Auditorium of Rajiv Gandhi University under the joint auspices of Youth for United and Vibrant Arunachal (YUVA) and the Department of Hindi, RGU.
The conclave began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, Prof. S. K. Nayak. The inaugural session opened with a welcome address by Dr. Arun Kumar Pandey, Head of the Department of Hindi. Tai Tugung, President of YUVA, shared the vision and objectives of the organisation, presenting a roadmap for guiding the youth towards a constructive and purposeful direction.
Delivering the keynote address, Kamlesh Kumar, Prant Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Arunachal Pradesh, elaborated on the true meaning of citizen duties. He urged the youth to become more responsible and duty-conscious in order to face future physical and mental challenges. He emphasized active participation of the youth in society and called upon them to connect directly and meaningfully with the community. Highlighting the importance of nature, self-awareness, family, and civic responsibility, Kumar said that land, people, and culture are the lifelines of any nation. He stressed that while rights are important, fulfilling duties is equally a social and cultural necessity. “A nation whose youth lack awareness of their civic duties cannot progress,” he remarked. He further noted that the RSS, on the occasion of its centenary year, is working to awaken society through Panch Parivartan (Five Transformations), with Citizen Duties as one of its core themes. The conclave witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and research scholars. Participants raised several queries related to the RSS, which the keynote speaker addressed in detail. The proceedings were conducted by Ganko Miso, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Tai Tugung.
