ITANAGAR, Aug 13: Laa Tukum of Kamle won the men’s singles while Pinky Karki representing Kurung Kumey district clinched the women’s singles titles respectively as the Li-Ning 12th Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Badminton Championship 2025 came to an end here at the Khelo India Indoor Badminton Stadium on Wednesday.
The five-day tournament, organised by the Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) from August 9 to 13, saw participation from 30 districts along with teams from Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA), Rajiv Gandhi University Sports Control Board and the Capital Complex Badminton Association.
Winners from the event will go on to represent Arunachal Pradesh at the forthcoming North East Zonal Badminton Championship in Agartala, Tripura.
In the men’s singles, Tukum defeated Samuel Tamang of Upper Subansiri in the final, with Laa Talar of Kamle and Nikhil Chetry of Kurung Kumey taking bronze. In the women’s singles, Karki overcame Laa Yajum of Kamle in the title clash, while Dolma Tamang and Taku Neha, both from Kurung Kumey, secured bronze medals.
The men’s doubles title went to Dai Weshi and Laa Robin of Kamle, who beat compatriots Laa Talar and Laa Tukum.
The Bronze went to Kiyin Doming and Sonam Tamang of Anjaw, and Lobsang Choiden Sherdang and Lobsang Choidrup of Kurung Kumey.
In the women’s doubles, Pinky Karki and Taring Yania of Kurung Kumey emerged champions, defeating Montily Pul and Napi Tayam of Anjaw. Neha Taku and Nisha Upadhya (Kurung Kumey) and Dolma Tamang and Kenbi Riram (Kurung Kumey) took bronze.
The senior mixed doubles crown went to Lobsang Choidrup and Taring Yania of Kurung Kumey, with silver going to Akshay Raito and Irani Sonowal Lepcha of Pakke Kessang, and bronze to Kiya Tara and Boni Yapu of Capital and Laa Talar and Chera Akuania of Kamle.
In the under-19 category, Samuel Tamang (Upper Subansiri) won the boys’ singles ahead of Taku Manku (Kurung Kumey), while Pandung Pansa (East Siang) and Nabam Isaac (Papum Pare) took bronze.
The girls’ singles was won by Jesicca Saring (Lower Dibang Valley), defeating Jamba Waii (Bichum) in the final, with bronze going to Beryl Saring (Lower Dibang Valley) and Miss Upasna (Upper Siang).
In the boys’ doubles, Charu Danny and Nabam Isaac (Papum Pare) took gold, Kemar Reso and Mom Niting (Lower Subansiri) won silver, while bronze went to Anand Gurung and Thungam Mamai (Bichum) and Chau Soijan Manlong and Nantiwa Chowpoo (Namsai). The U-19 mixed doubles title went to Anand Gurung and Amijo Tangu (Bichum), silver to Marmin Uli and Adam Doyom (Upper Subansiri), and bronze to Pani Karbu and Toko Hannah (Papum Pare) and Soijan Manlong and Sneha Mowke (Namsai).
In the under-17 boys’ singles, Taku Manku (Kurung Kumey) claimed gold ahead of Licha Gumsh (Kurung Kumey), with bronze going to Sangio Robin (Papum Pare) and Biri Karakoram (Keyi Panyor). 
Jesicca Saring (Lower Dibang Valley) took the girls’ singles title, defeating Laa Anu (Kamle), while Lemru Mossang (Changlang) and Adam Doyom (Upper Subansiri) took bronze. In the boys’ doubles, Licha Gumsh and Taku Manku (Kurung Kumey) triumphed over Chau Nantiwa Chowpoo and Chau Sujanand Khen (Namsai), with Robinuku Sapam and Sangio Robin (Papum Pare) and Biri Karakoram and Maru Taching (Keyi Panyor) settling for bronze.
The U-17 mixed doubles gold went to Chipe Riram and Adam Doyom (Upper Subansiri), silver to Nantiwa Chowpoo and Ng. Sneha Mowke (Namsai), and bronze to Sangio Robin and Taba Tinam (Papum Pare) and Reyankam Tikhak and Dolly Thingnok (Changlang).
In the under-15 boys’ singles, Sukh Lal Das (Kamle) beat Kyon Tamin (Capital) for gold, while Teshi Bidum (Papum Pare) and Debia Tagu (Capital) claimed bronze.
The girls’ singles was won by Keshaya Elapra (Lower Dibang Valley) ahead of Laa Anu (Kamle), with bronze to China Tamut (SLSA) and Ami Flago (Kurung Kumey). The boys’ doubles title went to Taba Akam Tebw and Takar Rai (Changlang), silver to Abu Techi Tara and Moses Sangbia (Pakke Kessang), and bronze to Kapnai Jamikham and Sunil Jebisow (SLSA) and Gotam Sonar and Joshu Doka (East Kameng).
In girls’ doubles, China Tamut and Likha Deechum (SLSA) took gold, Ami Flago and Gara Kenyum (Kurung Kumey) won silver, and bronze went to Taba Nyirmin and Yowa Sania (Papum Pare) and Memory Cheda and Ruth Taku (East Kameng).
Mixed doubles gold went to Kapnai Jamikham and Likha Deechum (SLSA), silver to Sunil Jebisow and China Tamut (SLSA), and bronze to Diwu Mihu and Keshaya Elapra (Lower Dibang Valley) and Sukh Lal Das and Laa Anu (Kamle).
In the under-13 boys’ singles, Debia Tagu (Capital) took the top spot, beating Kyon Tamin (Capital), with bronze going to Laseng Maio (Namsai) and Geto Sora (Lower Siang). The girls’ singles was won by Likha Deechum (SLSA) ahead of Pia Basar (Lepa Rada), with bronze to Reedum Welly (Pakke Kessang) and Nikh Demin (Upper Subansiri).
The boys’ doubles title went to Debia Tagu and Kyon Tamin (Capital), silver to Rakjom Jini and Tuba Gadi (Lepa Rada), and bronze to Joy Doji and Jummo Ete (West Siang) and Ato Sangbia and Lakinbo Gyadi (East Kameng).
In the under-11 boys’ singles, Geto Sora (Lower Siang) defeated Lido Basar (Lepa Rada) for gold, with bronze to Neymar Ete (Upper Subansiri) and Tabu Techi (Pakke Kessang). The girls’ singles saw Anyah Lukham (Longding) win gold over Sumbing Yirang (East Siang), while Radhe Neya (Capital) and Nikh Demin (Upper Subansiri) took bronze.
In boys’ doubles, Geto Sora and Senmar Riba (Lower Siang) won gold, Karpin Basar and Lido Basar (Lepa Rada) took silver, and bronze went to Jukgam Doyom and Karko Riram (Shi Yomi) and Kamin Techi and Tabu Techi (Pakke Kessang).
The tournament, held in memory of former chief minister Dorjee Khandu, concluded in the presence of Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) chairman John Neelam as chief guest and Sports director Tadar Appa as guest of honour, who both praised ASBA for its role in promoting the sport and providing young players with a competitive platform.
