Itanagar, Feb 5: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has sent out a clear and uncompromising message to state government employees, warning that any form of “anti-government activity” will now invite swift and severe action.
Addressing the 7th general conference of the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) in Pasighat recently, Khandu called for unity, discipline and accountability across the bureaucracy, right from Class I officers to Group D staff.
“Policies are framed and public money is invested for people’s welfare. Yet it is deeply unfortunate that some officers are working against these very efforts. This is a serious setback for the state,” the chief minister said.
Making it clear that patience has run out, the chief minister said the government had shown restraint for long enough.
“We remained quiet till now. But from today, anyone found acting against the government and its policies will face strict and immediate action,” he warned.
Stressing the need for collective responsibility, Khandu urged employees to speak and act “with one voice” in support of development and reform.
“Be partners in good governance, not promoters of negativity. If we want to transform Arunachal Pradesh, there is no room for negativity,” he said.
