ITANAGAR, Jun 10:Chief Minister, Pema Khandu on Saturday inaugurated the Jan Sunwai Sammelan being organized by District Administration Capital Complex to facilitate services to the citizens under the scheme ‘Government at your doorstep’ (Sarkar Aapke Duar) at Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall.

Chief Secretary, Satya Gopal along with host of other dignitaries including HODs attended the programme.

The CM also visited all the help desks set up by various departments and enquired about various services provided under the Scheme. He personally handed out important documents like digitally generated ST/PRC, LPC to the already approved cases, marriage certificate etc to the public.

Khandu also felicitated the toppers of class X and XII (All streams) -2018 with certificates and cash awards and  handed over PPA (Payment Payment Advice) for transferring relief amount to the victims of damage caused by the recent storms in the Capital Complex to the Branch Manager, Yes Bank.

Jan Sunwai Sammelan is an initiative of the State Government which was passed in the Budget 2018-19 wherein every Deputy Commissioner was directed to conduct the event on the 1st of every month in their respective districts with an aim to resolve public grievances on the spot.

Few other important services provided during the programme were forms for new electrical connection, water connection, Aadhaar enrolment, e- ILP, employment certificate trading license, renewal of arm license, distribution of items under Ujjwala scheme etc.

The citizens were also given awareness on consumer rights and duties, disaster management, sanitation, legal awareness etc including free medicals checkups. The event also saw active participation from all the major banks including SBI, PNB, Yes Bank etc.

The Itanagar Municipal Council generated revenue to the tune of Rs. 72000.00 in Trading license and Rs. 1900.00 in Birth certificate. Naharlagun Power Department also facilitated 47 number of post paid connection and 68 number of prepaid connection along with giving away new service connection form free of cost to consumers. The next JSS would be held at Banderdewa in the month of July.

The department of Food and Civil Supplies issued a total of 1000 forms for new LPG connection and 1079 forms for fresh/ renewal/ modification/ transfer of ration cards. APEDA covered a total of 322 beneficiaries raising an amount of Rs.  186170.
