ITANAGAR/JAMUGURI, May 2: In a major enforcement success under Operation All Out, Itanagar Police arrested a key inter-state heroin supplier, dealing a significant blow to the narcotics network feeding drugs into Itanagar.
The accused, Ruful Amin (31), a resident of Kekokali Nepali under Sonitpur District, was apprehended during a well-coordinated joint operation with Jamuguri Police Station. The arrest followed sustained intelligence development, interrogation of previously arrested peddlers, and technical surveillance carried out over several weeks.
During the operation, an intermediate quantity of suspected heroin was recovered from his possession, leading to the registration of a fresh case at Jamuguri Police Station. Police sources confirmed that Amin was a crucial link in the supply chain, allegedly sourcing narcotics from Assam and channeling them into the Itanagar Capital Region through inter-state routes.
The arrest comes amid an intensified crackdown, with Itanagar Police having already registered six cases under the NDPS Act in the past one and a half month, arresting six peddlers and seizing around 120 grams of suspected heroin.
Officials stated that this breakthrough marks a strategic shift—from targeting local carriers to neutralizing suppliers at the source. The Superintendent of Police (Capital) lauded the team for the precise and intelligence-led operation, asserting that the mission will continue with a sharper focus on dismantling entire drug syndicates operating across state boundaries.
