Itanagar, Aug 6: A review meeting of the National Health Mission (NHM) was held today at the DK Convention Hall, Itanagar, under the chairmanship of the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Biyuram Waghe. The meeting was attended by the Commissioner (H &FW) Pawan Kumar Sain, Secretary (H&FW) Vivek HP, Mission Director (NHM), Director of Health Services, Director of Family Welfare, as well as all NHM Nodal officers and consultants.
Deputy Commissioners of all districts, along with District Medical Officers (DMOs) and District Reproductive and Child Health Officers (DRCHOs), were also present during the review.
In his address, Waghe emphasised the importance of delivering quality healthcare services to the public, strengthening grassroots health infrastructure, and ensuring the timely implementation of NHM programs. Acknowledging the challenges related to human resources (HR), he urged officials to make the best use of available resources until permanent solutions are found.
Regarding recent transfers of doctors, the Minister advised the doctors  to refrain  from seeking recommendation to retain their posting, as transfer decision were made rationally. He called upon all doctors to remain responsible and committed to the core objective of ensuring that no citizen is left behind in accessing healthcare services. Meanwhile he urged the District to work towards achieving National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification of more PHC and CHC.
Commissioner (H& FW) said that regular interaction with health officials can significantly improve health indicators in the district, it is therefore, the responsibility of Deputy commissioner to ensure that meeting of District Health Society are conducted on monthly basis to review progress address challenges, and plan corrective actions. 
While giving presentation on Health parameters Secretary (H &FW) said, data discrepancies due to over and under reporting is serious matter and the concerned DMO and DRCHO should strictly monitor and ensure only accurate data is entered. 
During the meeting DCs and DMOs of the respective districts presented reports on their health parameters wherein they highlighted their achievement, challenges and innovation.
