Tawang, Apr 9: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd.), visited the remote border outpost of Khenzemane near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Tawang District on Thursday. Brig. Bhupal Singh, SM, Commander 190 Mountain Brigade accompanied the Governor during the visit. Nestled amidst challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions, the outpost stands as a symbol of India’s vigilance and resilience, and the Governor’s visit was a gesture of solidarity with the forces guarding the nation’s frontiers.
The Governor, while continuing his endeavour to reach out to the troops in  border areas, interacted with troops of the Indian Army and personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and  acknowledged their unwavering dedication and sacrifices.
Drawing from his own rich military experience, the Governor connected with the troops on a personal level, listening to their concerns and gaining insights into their day-to-day challenges. He also enquired about their wellbeing, including their ability to stay connected with their families despite the remoteness of their posting.
Encouraging the troops, the Governor urged them to maintain high morale, remain physically fit, and stay mentally alert at all times, especially given the demanding conditions in forward areas. He emphasized that strength of mind and body, coupled with discipline and unity, are keys to ensuring operational readiness and national security.
Highlighting the importance of civil-military harmony, the Governor advised the forces to maintain close and cordial relations with the local population. He underscored that the support and trust of the people living in border areas are invaluable. Recalling the historic lessons of the Sino-Indian War of 1962, he reminded the personnel that the local communities had stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces during challenging times, offering assistance and guidance in difficult terrain.
