Itanagar, Aug 18: 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion NCC concluded the first ever five-day Arunachal Pradesh NCC Festival today.
The event was a spectacular accomplishment with over 200 cadets of the Senior Division and Senior Wing of various institutes and districts of the state of Arunachal Pradesh participating in the event. It started off in high spirits with the Independence Day Gala and Fair which was a vibrant event held on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.  The festival offered a cultural gala to promote the tribal bonding and bonhomie while providing exposure to the vivid heritage of the state through traditional dance and folk songs.
The NCC festivities, under the leadership and diligent coordination of Col Samudra Vijay Sarma, Commanding Officer, 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion NCC and Lt Col Surjit Rai, Administrative Officer was executed with precision and perfection. The festival offered a tapestry of events ranging from cultural performances to physical training, aligning with the themes of National Integration and Women in Defence Forces. The festival was effective in its objective of introducing cadets to a regimented way of life while also exposing them to the kaleidoscopic mosaic of the traditional and cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.
The cultural events were a major highlight with performances demonstrating the cadets’ versatility. As the traditional cultures are diluted and ebb away, giving way to influences of globalization, conduction of such events become even more relevant as they highlight the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage thus keeping the integrity of the cultural fabric alive. Apart from that, it aimed to create awareness on communal harmony, discipline, inclusivity and character building through community life.
The festival provided the cadets a platform for showcasing not just their creative talents but also to incorporate physical fitness and leadership qualities. In this pursuit many games, march past, guard of honour and drill sessions were conducted alongside the cultural events. The five days of cultural vibrance, patriotic fervour and rigorous training ended in a flurry of boots as the cadets departed with important life lessons and cherishable experiences. For many, it was a transformative experience in strengthening their confidence and sense of purpose, thus, giving the cadets a taste of leadership, responsibility and healthy competition.
