ITANAGAR, May 15:Raising apprehension that late Toko Yame alleged murder case will remain unsolved if Police continues to handle it; the All East Kameng District Students Union (AEKDSU) has called for transferring the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as the state police has failed to deliver justice to the bereaved family.

In a press conference, AEKDSU, president, Chakang Yangda while questioning the integrity of the police in handling the case, lamented that despite submission of several memorandums including reminders no one has been arrested yet despite availability of required evidences and suspects.

‘We want immediate end result from SIT within seven days failing which we will launch democratic movement including economic blockade in West Kameng if they fail to heed to our demand,’ he cautioned.

‘Forget the police even SIT has also miserably failed to come up with any logical conclusion on the case. The victim’s family have waited long enough and wants answers from the SIT within 7 days or else we suggest the case be given to CBI for speedy investigation,’ he said.

Father of deceased, Koya Yame urged the concern investigating agencies not to test their patience and reiterated his dissatisfaction over the shoddy investigation being carried out by SIT including the Police.

‘My son was brutally murdered which can be ascertained from the cut and burn marks on his body. Even the ISIS wouldn’t have tortured somebody like that,’ rued the aggrieved father.

He also expressed dismay over frequent transfer of investigating officers appointed to handle the case and feared foul play by few influential people trying to protect the perpetrators involved.

“Its eight months now since my son was brutally killed and suspects are still roaming freely in town without any fear,” he lamented.
