Itanagar, Aug 16: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday unveiled ‘Panch Pratigya’ — five transformative pledges aimed at shaping a Viksit Arunachal by 2047.
Addressing citizens at the 79th Independence Day celebrations in IG Park here, Khandu called the commitments “not just slogans but guiding principles” and urged collective action to realise them.
Pratigya 1 – Education: The CM reaffirmed his government’s commitment to Mission Shikshit Arunachal by 2029, ensuring every child has access to inclusive, and future-ready education. He lauded 2,645 students for clearing NEET this year, with Tumi Hina topping the State with an outstanding store of 99.87 per cent. Major investments worth Rs 750 crore are underway to upgrade schools, hostels, and teaching infrastructure, with indigenous languages integrated into curricula.
Pratigya 2 – Agriculture: Khandu pledged to make every farmer Samriddh through policies promoting organic, climate-resilient farming and high-value crops. The State has distributed over 1 lakh Soil Health Cards, issued 96,000+ Kisan Credit Cards, and provided machinery to 43,000+ farmers.
The CM also announced plans to make Arunachal the “Orchid Capital of the World” by building a complete orchid value chain from cultivation to global markets, and highlighted the role of cooperatives and FPOs in rural prosperity.
Pratigya 3 – Development in Harmony with Nature: Emphasising ecological balance, Khandu highlighted renewable energy expansion, zero-waste initiatives, and community-led conservation successes like Green Roing and Siluk village. He pledged to double renewable capacity, promote natural farming, and develop biodiversity parks and eco-tourism zones.
Pratigya 4 – Green Energy: Declaring 2025–2035 the “Decade of Hydropower,” the Chief Minister mentioned that major projects are in progress the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Project will be completed by May 2026, while the 2,880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project is on track for completion by February 2032. Over the next three years, the state will launch new hydropower projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore, which will add 19 GW capacity and generate thousands of jobs.
Arunachal has also secured over 16,000 carbon credits, positioning itself as a leader in the global green economy, he said.
Pratigya 5 – Sustainable Tourism: The newly launched Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Policy 2025–30 aims to position the state as a premier tourism destination, focusing on eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and cultural circuits. Recent accolades, including “Best Adventure Tourism Destination” at India International Travel Mart 2025 and “Best Offbeat Mountain Destination” for Anini, underscore the state’s growing tourism profile.
Before concluding, the CM said, “We are building an Arunachal that is Sundar, Swachh, Surakshit, Shikshit, Swasth, and Samridh (Beautiful and clean; safe for every citizen; educated, healthy, and prosperous in every field).
This is not just a slogan - it is a roadmap to the future – a future where every village shines, every citizen thrives, and Arunachal becomes a model of holistic development.” Khandu concluded with a heartfelt appeal to citizens to take “5 Pran” for cleanliness, environmental protection, buying local Swedeshi), digital literacy, and community safety, urging every Arunachali to be an active partner in the State’s transformation.
