RONO HILLS, Mar 19: NIT director Professor Pinakeswar Mahanta while addressing the valedictory function of the two-day national seminar on “India/NE India: Issues, dynamics & emerging realities” at RGU today appealed  the scholars to think beyond the narrow mind-set of garnering a job only.
“Don’t look for jobs, look for a career because getting a degree is not enough,” urged the NIT director. “Do research on Arunachal’s biodiversity and utilize the flora and fauna resourcefully so that you can start-up on your own. Local scenes are very important. The different kinds of bamboo found in this region are one such example where you can find the opportunity to kick-start your career,” Mahanta emphasized.
HoD of Political Science Professor PK Panigrahi, advised the researchers to give proper shape to their research by making them worthy of study. He also stressed on the originality of research work, by shunning plagiarism which is unethical and degrades the institution’s integrity.
RGURSF Chairman Margum Ado extended gratitude to the Department of Investment and Planning, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Governor of the state , Rajiv Gandhi University, Himalayan University and Vijaya Bank for their support. RGURSF General Secretary Kosen Jida gave vote of thanks. Seminar Coordinator Professor Jumyir Basar, Faculty Convenor Assistant Professor Lisa Lomdak was also present on the occasion.
Altogether, 61 research papers were presented during this two-day event organized by the RGURSF in collaboration with AITS. RGU Press Release
