ITANAGAR, Aug 11: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has submitted a memorandum to the Minister of Education, PD Sona demanding the immediate establishment of CUET (Common University Entrance Test) examination centers across the state.
In the memorandum the Union highlighted the severe hardships faced by students due to the limited availability of CUET examination centers in Arunachal Pradesh. The lack of accessible centers, according to AAPSU, has placed a heavy burden on students, both financially and logistically, making it difficult for many to register and appear for the examination, informed Lingdom Kame Asst Education Secretary AAPSU.
The Union emphasized that transportation issues, communication gaps, and financial constraints have prevented numerous students from participating in the CUET exams, which are critical for securing admissions to central universities and other institutions.
Citing the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP), the memorandum underlined the importance of equal access to examination opportunities for students across all regions, including remote areas like Arunachal Pradesh.
“This matter needs immediate attention to ensure that the educational interests of the students of Arunachal Pradesh are adequately addressed,” Kame stated.
AAPSU has called on the state government to take swift action in collaboration with central authorities to ensure that examination infrastructure is strengthened and CUET centers are made available within the state.
