ITANAGAR, Mar 4:  Across Arunachal Pradesh, BJP's electoral victories in Tripura,  Nagaland and Meghalaya were celebrated in the Mandals, Districts and State Party Headquarters.

Social media and digital media in Arunachal Pradesh is a flush with photographs of victory celebrations.

In the state party headquarters, celebration started off with words of welcome by State General Secretary Jarpum Gamlin and he led a "short condolences" in the name of the martyrs across Tripura, Kerala,  West Bengal and Karnataka.  He dedicated the victories to the sacrifices of hundreds and thousands workers who laid down their lives to cement a strong foundation for the growth and development of BJP.

State Vice President Dominic Tadar  gave an elaborate report on the electoral votes share and pattern in the three states.

Cabinet Minister for RD & Panchayat, Alo Libang underlined the need for grooming ideologically aligned leaders.

Cabinet Minister for Power (Electrical) Tamiyo Taga hailed the defeat of leftist cadre in Tripura as one of the finest victories of the party. Also, he added that failure to open its account  by the  "secular" Congress in Nagaland coupled with BJP's performance  proves that misleading the commoners in the name of religion is no longer working.

State Party President Tapir Gao in his address said that since BJP is one large family therefore victories in any part of the world must be celebrated to foster the feeling of oneness amongst all workers.

Also, Gao hailed the tireless efforts of thousands of foot soldiers for making the ground fertile to ensure such victories.  All these were followed by bursting of crackers and  high tea.

Conrad to be next Meghalaya CM

SHILLONG, Mar 4: The governor of Meghalaya on Sunday invited NPP President Conrad Sangma to form a government in the state, a day after the latter's party emerged second-largest in the recently concluded Assembly elections. Oathtaking is scheduled for March 6.

Conrad Sangma's NPP had secured 19 seats, two fewer than the Congress' 21, but managed to gain the support of the UDP which had secured 6 seats to add to the 2 seats the BJP had managed to win.As a result of the development, the Congress will no longer be in power in the North East state for the first time since 2009. It is also a repeat of the events witnessed in Manipur and Goa a year back when the Congress was unable to form a government in the states despite being the largest party.

On Saturday, Congress leaders Kamal Nath and Ahmed Patel had rushed to Shillong to attempt a continuation of a Congress-run government in Meghalaya. They had said they would go to the Governor to lay claim to forming a government. Later, Congress leader Mukul Wasnik had been photographed holding a document that had electoral equations scribbled underneath. The UDP's six seats featured prominently.

Accordingly, on Sunday, the Congress staked its claim to form a government in Meghalaya. CP Joshi and Vincent Pala met the Meghalaya Governor and handed him a letter which read, “Congress has become the single largest party in state (Meghalaya) and constitutional propriety dictates that Congress be invited to form the government at the earliest. Majority would be proven on the floor of the House at the date and time decided.”

However, the events of the day haven't gone as per the Congress' plans.
