Itanagar, Mar 13: Continuing efforts to enhance the accessibility of Aadhaar services in Arunachal Pradesh, Bhuvnesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) inaugurated a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Itanagar on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO UIDAI stated that the newly inaugurated Aadhaar Seva Kendra would strengthen the delivery of Aadhaar services in the state. He added that the ASK serves as a single-stop destination for individuals seeking Aadhaar enrolment as well as Aadhaar number holders requiring updates. The centre provides dedicated Aadhaar enrolment and update services in a modern, state-of-the-art environment. The CEO UIDAI also emphasized the importance of the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) for children to ensure that their Aadhaar is not suspended and to ensure uninterrupted access to services that require Aadhaar authentication. The MBU is mandatory for children once they reach the age of 5 years (MBU-1) and again at 15 years (MBU-2). Aadhaar with updated biometrics facilitates ease of living and ensures seamless usage while availing services such as school admissions, registration for entrance examinations, scholarships, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes, wherever applicable. Parents and guardians are being advised to update the biometrics of their children or wards in Aadhaaron priority. The conduct of MBU camps being undertaken at schools has been kept free till September this year.
The CEO also reviewed the overall functioning of the centre, including operational efficiency, queue management, infrastructure facilities, and adherence to prescribed guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He interacted with residents present at the centre to obtain feedback on service quality and the issues they faced. Officials of the ASK Itanagar were directed to ensure prompt and effective redressal of grievances.
