Tezu, Mar 1: Fun and thrill marked the National Science Day celebrations as the Bamboosa Library, Tezu organised an exciting session of sci-fun activities for school students here. The session was conducted by well-known popular science teacher-educator and solar energy expert Bappu Deshmukh, Pondicherry. With a range of common daily-use items like coins, water, a ball, matchstick etc, supported by video-clips, he guided the students to discover and explore various scientific phenomena.
A keenly contested popular science Quiz for class 5 students, was also conducted by the Bamboosa Library team, to stimulate their curiosity and general awareness. The class 5 students who have just commenced their vacation, were invited to form teams of 2 members, to enable a large number of students to participate in the quiz. The team of Rinzingliang Tayang (VKV Tafrogam) & Srinilu Malo (VKV Sunpura) won the first prize, closely followed by Dhamisi Dele & Deme Mipi (both VKV Sunpura students from Roing) winning the second prize. Doreen Lisa Padu (VKV Sunpura) & Kenu Padu (VKV Tezu) secured the third prize. Teams from the Police Welfare School, Tezu & the TCM Govt UP School were awarded consolation prizes.
The entire celebration was a joyous and stimulating time for students, parents and the library volunteers.
In view of the long vacation for school students, Bamboosa Library proposes to conduct monthly quiz on a range of topics from next month, to help students develop their reading enthusiasm and learning skills.
