ITANAGAR, Mar 30: In what could be termed as a regular feature, yet again, another recruitment process is alleged to be flawed. At least  70 candidates that appeared in the Physical  Efficiency Test (PET) for the post of Forester and Forest Guard protested outside the office of the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) alleging serious lapses during the test conducted at the Police Training Centre, Banderdewa on March 25 last.
The candidates demanded an early decision on the matter so that they can prepare for the next test.
Speaking to reporters, one of the candidates said that during the test, they had to complete 14 km in seven rounds. Surprisingly, even after completing the test according to the rules, many of the candidates were disqualified, candidate said.
Another candidate informed that they completed the 14 km run before stipulated  4 hours. The test began around 4.45pm and the time of completion was at 8.45 pm.
“We completed the run before 7.15pm but we were disqualified, which is unfair to the candidates. We were not provided with a token which was given to the first batch of candidates to ensure that the seven round run was completed,” she said, adding that the monitor was also shut down when we completed our run and the official on duty informed that, the scanner strapped on the legs generates automatic verification and will be saved in the system but by the time we completed the run, no verifying authority was on the ground.
She also informed that the candidates earlier on the day met APSSB Under Secretary who said that the decision of qualification will be decided during the board meeting and the candidates have to accept the decision of the board.
The advertisement for the post was made in the year 2019. The test was held on March 25 last and the result was declared two days later on March 27.
